Baby V-Neck Pullover

I have been working on 4 different baby sweater patterns, seemingly at the same time, for the past month or so, but I finally finished one yesterday and typed it out. Hooray for me! This one is the easiest of them so I really don't have any excuse for not finishing is sooner.

This Baby V-Neck Pullover is worked seamless from the neck down and the yoke is worked flat until it is joined at the bottom of the V-neck.The sleeves and bottom portion of the sweater are knit in the round and
stitches for the neck band are picked up and worked in the round also. The solid colored sweater has a cable panel worked down the center of each sleeve (directions are in the pattern), but several of the samples were knit using stripes of alternating 3 colors for the yoke and tops of the sleeves. The cables on the sleeves were omitted on the striped samples.

Now I need to get back to the other 3 designs. :)

My iPAD MINI

I received a great gift for Christmas from my Daughter and her family - an iPad Mini. I love it! I also received a red (my favorite color) Smart Cover for it to protect the screen. Because I'd like to carry it with me in my pocketbook I decided to knit a cozy for it to keep it from getting scratched by the "junk" I keep in my bag.

I've written up the pattern for the cozy and call it iPad Mini Cabled Cozy. If you'd like a copy of the pattern, it's for sale on Ravelry and Craftsy. If you click on either My designs on ravelry.com or My designs on craftsy.com on the right top area beside this blog, it will take you to my patterns.

Baby Zig Zag Pullover

I've completed another baby sweater pattern, called Zig Zag Pullover. I love the stitch pattern in this one. It looks complicated but is actually very easy to do because you can see the stitches easily. The zig zag seems to jump out at you. You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry or Craftsy by clicking on either link you see to the right of this blog.

Baby Princess Cardigan

My newest knitting pattern, Baby Princess Cardigan, knit in a sport weight yarn,  is now available on ravelry.com and craftsy.com. This one was really a struggle. As I knit it, I kept changing my mind about how it should be. The first four sweaters, each one different from the others, are all different from the final ones! Several times I put the first few in time out and considered naming the pattern "The Sweater That Would Not Be Knit". LOL

So here is the final design:

My next design will be a worsted weight pullover with an all-over pattern. I've begun knitting it and so far this one is cooperating, thank goodness. :)

Hooded Baby Jumpsuit

Today I published my newest knitting pattern on Ravelry and on Craftsy. It's called Hooded Jumpsuit.  It's one piece, is seamless, has raglan sleeves and is made with worsted weight yarn so it's suitable for cool weather. It's knit top-down from the ribbed neckband and the front buttoned bands go to within 1" of the crotch to make it easy to put on and take off your baby.

Stitches for the hood are picked up from the neckband and once the hood is knitted, stitches are grafted together at the top of the head so there are no seams.

The hood, body and legs are knit in stockinette stitch, while the sleeves are knit in a mock rib stitch to add texture and interest. The neckband, sleeve cuffs and leg cuffs are worked in ribbing.
I love the red lady bug buttons on the blue jumpsuit and the little car buttons on the brown jumpsuit. :)

Easy Baby Cable Pullover

A few weeks ago I was looking through my yarn stash and trying to decide what project to I felt like knitting. I really wanted to use the Knit Picks Brava worsted weight yarn in the Cornflower colorway. It's such a pretty aqua/blue color. Don't you agree? I couldn't decide on which pattern to use so I designed a new one
and called it Easy Baby Cable Pullover. If you'd like to purchase the pattern, it's for sale on Craftsy and Ravelry, clicking one of the links to the right, either My Designs on Craftsy.com or My Designs on Ravelry.com will lead you there.
Do you recognize Zeitel? My blog post of April 8th (can't believe I haven't posted since then, sigh) showed her with much lighter hair. I've given her a hair transplant since that last blog because her "old" hair was shedding terribly, all over my chocolate brown sofa, where she spends most of her time when she isn't modeling.

Zeitel's New Dress

Last month, when my daughter, Colleen, came to visit, along with her husband and 4 children, she brought me a doll that she knitted for me. She stuffed it so that the dimensions would be the same as an average sized newborn. This way I can use it as a model for my baby knitting designs. The doll is well made and is absolutely adorable. Colleen finished stuffing it while she was still on the plane on the way here.

She carried the doll in a tote bag which of course had to be put on the conveyor belt to go through security at the airports. At one of them, her husband (I think it was Abe who said it) said "Zeitel, don't forget the baby". For those who don't know, that's a line from the movie Fiddler on the Roof. So now, the doll has a name - Zeitel!

Colleen ran out of time so Zeitel was bald when I received her. A good friend of mine, Jennifer, gave me lovely yarn a week ago and I finally put hair on Zeitel's head.

I also have finally finished my latest knitting pattern - Zeitel's New Dress. The pattern is for sale on Ravelry and also on Craftsy.

Isn't Zeitel cute?
